A Guide to Trauma-Informed Somatic Principles and Practices for Trauma Recovery.
This Level 2 Ethics of Trauma-Informed Care training is a self-paced asynchronous course that will build upon the principles and practices from Level 1 and begin to integrate Polyvagal Theory into these methods.
PLEASE NOTE: Level 1 is a prerequisite to attend Level 2.
What You Will Receive:
- Over 2 hours of trauma-informed tips and resources.
- 2 Ethics Continuing Education Hours (CEs)
- Certificate of Completion.
Training Objectives:
- Examine how Polyvagal Theory can support creating a sense of safety within the therapeutic relationship and setting.
- Describe how to assess the autonomic nervous system state for both the therapist and client during a session.
- Apply somatic practices for self-regulation and co-regulation in a clinical setting.
- Recognize ways to create a trauma-informed setting for clients.
Topics Include:
- Polyvagal Theory principles in a therapeutic setting.
- Mindfulness practices to build resilience and regulate the autonomic nervous system.
- Ethical dilemmas to support the application of trauma-informed practices with clients.
- Somatic practices to decrease effects of secondary trauma and burnout.
- Enhanced breathwork practices for self-regulation, stress management, and sleep support.
This is a self-paced asynchronous virtual course. You will have up to 1 year to complete the course entirely to receive a Certificate of Completion.
CE Details: Becca Odom Wellness, Provider #1955, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 4/16/2024-4/16/2025. Social workers completing this course receive 2 Ethics continuing education credits.
